Congratulations to our teacher of the year, Mrs. Jessica Wallis!
Mrs. Jessica Wallis is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University where she received a B.S in Elementary Education. She later obtained her Master's Degree at Walden University, earning a distinction of Reading Specialist. The first two years of her teaching career was spent in Chattanooga as a kindergarten teacher at Hardy Elementary. She then decided to move back home to Knoxville where she began a 15 year career at Dogwood Elementary School, first as a fifth grade teacher and then as an instructional coach. In 2021, her family bought property in Lancing Tennessee. Mrs. Wallis believes that being a teacher is more than teaching standards. It's about building relationships with everyone around her; each child, their families, and staff members, all who contribute to the success of students.
