We are excited to introduce a Buddy Bench on the Kindergarten and 1st grade playground—a colorful symbol of kindness, inclusion, and friendship. This beautiful bench, donated by Project B.A.S.I.C., reminds students that “Friendship is like a rainbow—it can brighten any day!”
The bench was assembled and placed on the playground with the generous help of Save the Children and our School Resource Officer, Officer James, and we are so grateful for their support in bringing this meaningful addition to our school community.
Before the bench was installed, Kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms participated in lessons focused on friendship and empathy, and read "The Buddy Bench" to learn its purpose. Students understand that if a child sits on the Buddy Bench longer than the time it takes to tie a shoe, they are looking for a friend—and it’s everyone’s job to help make sure no one feels alone.
This Buddy Bench is already serving as a powerful reminder that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.
